George’s Night

altThe tradition of the battle-roleplay "The St.George's Night Uprising" began in April 2005, when around 130 roleplayers, interested in historical re-enactments, gathered at Kassinurme Hills, Jõgeva County, where an ancient fort was being reconstructed. The event's popularity has increased over the years. In 2009, there were 425 roleplayers involved. There were participants from each Estonian county and some from Latvia and Finland. In 2009, the average age of the participants was 18,7 years.
Each year before the roleplay a charity event is held, during which the Kassinurme Hills and hiking paths are cleaned, new structures are built and the fortess is expanded.
